Dog Train
=========

Written by The Levellers. From their 1997 album "Mouth To Mouth".

Transcribed by Keith M. Dunnett, keithdunnett@yahoo.com, 13/10/99.
Lyrics transcribed by Alan Bigham on the 27th of June 1999.

Playing notes: This song should have an up-tempo, syncopated sound.
Percussive effects made by tapping the strings and or the guitar can add
an interesting depth. Any comments welcome.

Numbers above are beats of each bar to indicate timing.

F#m / / E B / / D A / / E F#m / / bass riff

The bass riff at the end of this sequence is (6th string) 2 4 5 4 2.

Or with a capo on fret 2 :

Em / / D A / / C G / / D Em (bass riff)

The bass riff with the capo is 0 2 3 2 0, from the capo. I dislike
playing with the capo in terms of sound because the different inversions
of these chords do not improve the sound, IMO.

Lyrics
------
      F#m E
 Well this is murder
      B D
 Yeah on the dog train
              A
When all the brakes have failed
         E F#m (bass riff)
 And I'm going down hill
        F#m
And if you see me wave
 E B
Yeah I'm only saying bye bye
         D A
 There's not a single tear
            F#m (bass riff)
 Yeah in my eyes

 La-la-la-la-la
 La-la-la-la-la-la-la
 La-la-la-la-la
 La-la-la

And if you've heard this before
Well I'm gonna say it again
 That life was easy when
 I didn't have a clue
 Because this is murder
 Yeah I'm getting dog tired
Let's make the world brand new
 How about you?

 La-la-la-la-la
 La-la-la-la-la-la-la
 La-la-la-la-la
 La-la-la

 La-la-la-la-la
 La-la-la-la-la-la-la
 La-la-la-la-la
 La-la-la

Horny bit

 La-la-la-la-la (I know this) \
 La-la-la-la-la-la-la (I know life/I dont miss) \ repeat
 La-la-la-la-la (I love life/I know life) /
