Written by the Levellers for the Hello Pig LP.

Transcription (of the live version played at the Nottingham gig)
by Alan Bigham, 12th of August 2000.
As always, please send any comments or corrections.

The chord marked F#m* can just be played as F#m if you want,
but I play it as a very quick E5 > F#m > A5 > F#m.

The D at the end of each verse is strummed a couple of times,
then gradually softer.

INTRO:
 F#m* x4

 F#m F#m E Bm E D

 F#m* x2

VERSE I:
    (F#m) F#m
She took the world on she was higher than the sun
     E Bm
She didn't have a need, she didn't really want for anyone
     E D
She didn't ask for any of this

     F#m F#m
She painted in the dark, truth turned into lies
 E Bm
Men came in the night, and the set the world alight
     E D
She didn't ask for any of this

CHORUS:
         F#m F#m
But the red sun burns brighter in the night
         F#m F#m
And the red sun burns to make you feel alright
     Bm Bm A F#m* F#m*
But everywhere you go there's still not enough for everyone

VERSE II:
They left her in the ash, tears lay in her eyes
She swore no-one would take all that they could create
She didn't ask for any of this

She took the world on she was higher than the sun
She didn't have a need, she didn't really want for anyone
she didn't ask for any of this
