This Garden
===========
Written by The Levellers, from their 1993 album "Levellers".
Transcribed by Alan Bigham, 16th May 2016.
Another tough one on an acoustic by itself. To play this with standard tuning the chord pattern for the verses and before the courses
is more or less C the whole time while the fiddle and bass run their lines then a couple of quick strums of F.
INTRO:
C
Blood, sweat and tears
F
Really don't matter

VERSE I:
C
I never thought, I'd see the day
F
When you became what you've become
C
It's easy now just to look away
F
And leave your conscience on the run
C
Spend so much time not looking for an answer
F
But someone else's to blame
C
As long as you don't take the drop
F
To you it's all the same

VERSE II:
C
Sometimes, I like to get away
F
Chase a thought and fly
C
The people around here will never change
F
They're too scared to look outside
C
Community spirit, neighborhood watch
F
Curtains twitching all the time
C
Got to have a look at what next door's got
F
'Cos your credit's on the line
N/C

Blood, sweat and tears
Really don't matter
Just the things that you do
In this garden

VERSE III:
C
Don't waste your time with your visions of the future

And your party line
C
'Cos your eyes have blinded to the people in the gutter
F
Who are fighting to survive
C
When I was out, I saw a fox
F
He was fighting for his life
C
His eyes were wide but his mind was shut
F
To the red coat bugle cries
C
When he reached his home his path was blocked
F
By some sportsman's clever guise
C F
If this is as far as your culture's got then I deny it
C
The crackdown starts the law decends
F
The nightmare starts again

Though they tighten the security net

There's always one who gets away
